Two separate subscriptions
Facelet supplies the desktop app, characters and local animation. Your compatible ChatGPT plan supplies the conversation. Facelet has no per-minute avatar charge and does not ask for an API key. OpenAI’s own account eligibility and usage limits still apply. Cloud conversations on Mac let you use Claude or GPT through your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key instead; that usage is billed by the provider.
Why there is no per-minute meter
Live avatar services that stream a face from their own servers usually charge by the minute or in credits, because every minute uses their graphics hardware. Facelet renders the character on your computer instead, so there is nothing to meter: one flat monthly price, and the character runs as long as you like. Your ChatGPT plan’s own usage limits still apply to the conversation. Compare the models on the comparison page.
Facelet’s monthly price
The Mac app is available now for $4.99 a month during the open beta, with a standard price of $9.99 a month. Subscribe during the open beta and $4.99 a month stays your price for as long as you stay subscribed. The native Windows app is coming soon; see Windows release status before buying for a PC.
| Plan | Monthly charge | Twelve monthly payments |
|---|---|---|
| Open beta | $4.99 a month | $59.88 |
| Standard | $9.99 a month | $119.88 |
The twelve-payment figures illustrate the monthly rates; they are not an annual commitment. A compatible ChatGPT subscription is required separately.

Does Facelet charge per minute?
No. Facelet charges a flat monthly subscription for access to the app and characters. It renders the face on your computer. Your separate ChatGPT plan supplies the conversation and has its own usage limits.

What do I still pay for?

Every update is included while you are subscribed, you can cancel any time, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first payment.
