Facelet gives your ChatGPT a face: a lifelike human character that listens, thinks, and speaks with you in real time. It is built natively for Mac and Windows. The Mac app is in open beta, and the Windows app is coming soon. Try it free on Mac for 30 days with no card; after that, Facelet is $4.99 a month.

Yes. The Mac trial is 30 days of the whole app, every face included, on one Mac, with no card. Enter your email on the trial page, download Facelet from the link we send, and your 30 days start the first time the app opens. When it ends, subscribing keeps everything as it is; the app picks up your subscription on its own. One trial per Mac and per email. Windows trials will open when the Windows release is ready.

A supported computer and a ChatGPT account with voice conversation. There’s no API key to paste and no usage bill from us. If you prefer, cloud conversations on Mac let you use Claude or GPT through your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key instead; that usage is billed by the provider. Facelet itself is a monthly subscription: $4.99 a month during the open beta, $9.99 a month after. The Mac app has been tested with ChatGPT Pro; other plans and Windows plan compatibility are being validated. The Windows app currently connects through an installed, signed-in Codex helper; its setup requirements are listed on the Windows page.

The portraits on this page are photographic edits of our 3D characters. In Facelet, each character is rendered live on your computer.

On Mac, Facelet comes with Ari. Every other character is an optional download inside the app, about 0.2 to 0.7 GB each, and you can remove any of them to free up space. Your subscription, or your free trial, includes all of them. Windows uses a separate installer and a matched ZIP containing the app’s content; it does not use the Mac character downloads.

Downloaded Mac characters live in the Characters folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/Facelet, not inside the app, so dragging Facelet to the Trash leaves them behind. If you remove Facelet, first open Characters… and choose Remove All Downloads, or delete that Characters folder, to free that space.

They can. Facelet always includes at least ten characters, but the collection is a living part of the app: a character’s look, from hair and wardrobe to accessories and styling, can be refined over time, and a character can be replaced by a new one. The collection never has fewer than ten, and the terms spell it out.

No. There is no per-minute fee: Facelet is $4.99 a month during the open beta, whether you talk for ten minutes or ten hours. It uses the voice conversation included in your ChatGPT plan, so there is no API key to buy tokens for and no second AI subscription. The only other cost is the ChatGPT subscription you already pay for. An API key is optional: Cloud conversations on Mac use your own Anthropic or OpenAI key, billed by the provider.

No. Both native apps render the character on your computer’s graphics hardware in real time. Audio is analyzed on your computer to move the face. Your conversation connects to OpenAI through your own ChatGPT account.

Facelet starts its own voice conversation with ChatGPT through your login. It doesn’t read your chat history, import your memories, or store your ChatGPT credentials. Your plan’s usage limits still apply.

The Mac app needs Apple silicon, M1 or newer, and macOS 15 or newer, with 16 GB of memory recommended, about 3 GB of free disk space to install, and 0.2 to 0.7 GB for each extra character (keep 0.5 GB spare while one downloads). Intel Macs are not supported. Facelet adjusts its rendering detail to your Mac’s graphics chip; performance on the smallest chips is still being confirmed.

The native Windows app is coming soon. Signing and release testing are still in progress, so downloads and new Windows subscriptions are not open yet. It targets Windows 11 24H2 or newer (build 26100+), x64, with DirectX 12 and Shader Model 6. Hardware testing so far covers an NVIDIA RTX 2080. Other GPUs, hybrid laptops and integrated-only graphics are not yet qualified; Windows 10 and ARM PCs are outside the current target. There is no final VRAM minimum yet.

Yes. Ask for a wink, a nod, or a shake of the head in the conversation, or tell it to hold still.

$4.99 a month during the open beta, $9.99 a month after. Subscribe during the open beta and $4.99 a month stays your price for as long as you stay subscribed. If you cancel and subscribe again later, you pay the price on the day you return.

Yes. Cancel from your account page and Facelet keeps working to the end of the month you paid for. We never charge you again, and you can subscribe again whenever you like.

If a renewal payment fails, Facelet keeps working for 3 days while you update your card, then pauses until the payment goes through. Nothing is lost. We email you, and the app and your account page both show a link to pay.

Write to us within 30 days of your first payment and we refund it in full, no questions asked. After that you can cancel any time.
